Course Content

Complete the ICF-accredited Level 2 Advanced Coach Training to deepen your professional coaching practice. You will apply your learning through advanced coaching sessions during classes and engage in structured reflective practice to develop greater awareness of your coaching presence.

The programme follows a structured, practice-led approach that supports the integration of advanced coaching tools into your existing work and enables you to demonstrate readiness for more complex client engagements and progression toward PCC-level credentialing.

The focus is on developing the depth, presence, and professional judgement required for advanced coaching practice. You explore what distinguishes competent coaching from consistently effective, PCC-level coaching, with an emphasis on integration rather than technique accumulation.

  • ICF PCC Markers: Deepen your understanding of PCC-level markers and how they are demonstrated in coaching sessions.
  • Coaching the person, not the problem: Learn to work beyond surface-level goals by engaging the whole person, supporting awareness, insight, and sustainable change.
  • Architecture of powerful questions: Refine your use of language to craft questions that invite depth, challenge assumptions, and open new perspectives without directing the client.
  • Reflective cycle: Use structured reflection to examine your coaching patterns, strengthen your self-awareness and engage in continuous professional development.

This section strengthens your ability to draw on established psychological approaches to inform your coaching practice, while maintaining clear professional boundaries. The emphasis is on when and how to apply these perspectives ethically and effectively in coaching conversations.

  • Carl Rogers’ person-centred approach: Deepen your capacity to create a coaching relationship grounded in empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, supporting trust and client autonomy.
  • Cognitive behavioural coaching: Learn to work with thinking patterns, beliefs, and behaviours to support clients in creating practical, sustainable change aligned with their goals.
  • Mindfulness coaching: Integrate mindfulness-based approaches to enhance client awareness, emotional regulation, and presence, both within and beyond coaching sessions.
  • Somatic coaching: Explore how embodied awareness can support insight and change by working with physical sensations, posture, and energy as part of the coaching process.

This section develops your understanding of coaching supervision and how it supports professional growth, ethical practice, and reflective mastery. You will explore different supervision formats and learn to use supervision as a tool for continuous improvement in your own coaching practice.

  • Difference between coaching supervision and mentor coaching: Understand the distinct purposes, focus, and outcomes of supervision versus mentor coaching, and how each supports your professional development.
  • Role and purpose of coaching supervision: Learn how supervision promotes accountability, ethical practice, and deeper self-awareness in complex coaching situations.

Students practice coaching with each other every time they meet.

You will be split in pairs or in triads to get confident in the coaching process and apply coaching skills in a safe learning environment. You will not do any role-play, but coach each other on real topics.

The trainer joins a group every day to observe the sessions and provide detailed, personalised, and empowering feedback to participants. The group then comes back together and a bigger debrief is made to allow everyone to share their learning and inspire each other.

The certification includes 10 hours of Mentor Coaching, which is one of the requirements when you apply for an ICF credential.

  • On the last two half-days of the training, you will complete the group mentor coaching (7 hours). Students will coach each other in front of the whole group, while the others will observe and learn from the coach. A discussion is then facilitated by the trainer who also gives feedback.
  • In the three months following the end of the course, you will complete the 3 hours of individual mentor coaching with your mentor. These 3 sessions of an hour each will enable you to ask questions, review the audio recording of sessions, and discuss your coursework.
