Mentor Coaching is more than a requirement

Mentor coaching is often seen by coaches as a requirement for their credential application or renewal. In reality, it is one of the most impactful learning experience you can have as a coach. You observe live coaching, reflect on your skills, receive meaningful feedback, and strengthen your practice. It’s a great way to revisit the foundational skills you learned a while ago.

Our mentor coaching programme is designed to be a learning experience you genuinely value and enjoy. It will help you:

Who is this training for?

This mentor coaching programme is for:

What you will do

The Advanced Coach Training has been approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as the second module of our Advanced Diploma in Coaching, which has been granted the Level 2 programme accreditation. It will enable you to apply for an ICF ACC or PCC credential via the Level 2 path.

The programme includes 7 hours of group mentor coaching, which are split into three sessions.

First group session (2 hours)

  • Group introductions.
  • Discussion on the participants’ coaching journey, including their credential, training, and coaching experience.
  • In small groups, we will take some time to discuss the PCC Markers, which are the standards we use for all mentees.
  • In larger groups, a participant will coach another person for 30 minutes while the other observe, followed by an in-depth discussion on the competencies and markers that were demonstrated, and those that were not observed.

Second and third group sessions (2.5 hours each):

  • The Mentor coach will invite participants to share if they have any questions or reflection on coaching.
  • There will then be two live coaching sessions of 30-minute each, followed by a feedback discussion.
  • On the final session, participants will reflect on the experience and their takeaways.

The 10-hour programme includes 3 individual sessions of 1 hour with your Mentor coach.

You can book these sessions whenever it suits you via an online calendar, which we will share with you upon registration.

Before each individual session, you will record a 30-minute coaching session and send the audio file to your Mentor coach. They will listen to it and write detailed feedback, which they will share with you prior to the session.

The mentor coaching session will be an opportunity for you to reflect on the session and the skills you demonstrated. You will review the feedback together with your Mentor coach and discuss strengths and areas of development, as well as concrete actions you can immediately take in your sessions.

Our approach to feedback

When we observe coaches in live sessions or we listen to their recordings, we do so with genuine curiosity and respect for the professional coaches they are.

We do no judge (“good”/”bad”) and we do not tell coaches how they “should” coach. We focus instead on the behaviours the ICF describes as effective coaching for the credential level they are applying for. From there, we explore together how they might choose to demonstrate those competencies more intentionally in their own style.

Feedback is offered to help you notice what is already working well, and to gently highlight areas where your coaching could be clearer or more consistent with ICF standards. This creates a safe and relaxing space for you to learn more deeply.

The aim is always learning and development — never judgement — so you can grow in confidence while staying true to who you are as a coach.

The programme is delivered in English.

Mentor coaching is delivered via Zoom.

Mentor Coaching is a requirement for any new ACC or PCC application where the coach hasn’t completed mentoring during their coach training;

It is also a requirement for to renew the ICF ACC credential

All our Mentor coaches are PCC-credentialed coaches who are eligible to mentor ACC and PCC applicants.

We change the Mentor coach for each programme. You can learn more about the team.

Mentor coaching focuses on ICF Core Competencies and is specifically structured to help you meet ACC/PCC credentialing requirements.

Supervision is broader and often focuses on ethical practice, professional development, or case discussion. Our mentor coaching is feedback-driven and competency-focused, not evaluative.

Absolutely. Even if you don’t need mentor coaching for a credential, the programme is a valuable way to reflect on your practice, receive structured feedback, and deepen your coaching skills.

The ICF requires that the 10 hours of Mentor Coaching are completed over a period of three months minimum. You will have up to a year to complete the mentoring.

We understand that it can be scary to be observed as a coach, especially if you haven’t been in this situation in a while. This is why creating a safe, supportive environment is critical to us.

We will never force anyone to coach or be coached. You can start by observing other coaches and contributing to the group discussion. You will see that the feedback is constructive, based on the ICF competencies, and never personal. It’s also feedback for the entire group, and not just for the coach who was facilitating the session.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us or book a call with us.
